This car was never intended to go on track, until he and his friend Adam got to talking. Long story short, Andrew & Adam met us at their first SCCA event ultimately leading to Adam selling us our Hendrick Motorsports Track Attack car #Dale. Adam set the lap record in Nightrain at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, that so far is still holding. Nightrain is on a mission to raise awareness and find a cure to #EndALS. “Meeting the Lloyd brothers on that windy day in CLT my first time out was no coincidence. They were super friendly, very welcoming and turns out we had a whole lot in common, except for one thing. I did not know Dave had ALS that day. Later learning about Dave’s condition and the work they’d done with RFALS, I was instantly inspired to join the fight. They are just awesome people. This car was truly a divine gift from God, and a story we love to tell, just ask us at he track and we would be happy to tell you about the day we met her at Hendrick Chevrolet Cary. The car is a 2015 Z28 and has a Hennessey HPE-650 engine upgrade. When we met her, she only had 846 miles despite being 3 years old! This car loves the track, but Scott retired the car from track racing as it just has to much sentimental value. This car represents another miracle along our journey, as Dave’s ALS progression suddenly necessitated an automatic trans. This 2015 Z28 had a Hennessey HPE-650 engine upgrade and absolutely screamed! Shadow Z found a new home recently, is now named Top Gunn and works to help the Carolina Cruise 4 Kids team raise money for charity there! I have been going down the data rabbit hole for many years now and when I realized that I have much to offer in regards to using data analysis and driver coaching, I started Precision Driving Analytics (PDA) in 2015. I’m now proud to say that I am the Data Engineer/Driver Coach for a 2019 Championship winning Ferrari Challenge team. We also finished 2nd in our Championships in both 2020 and 2021. I support multiple drivers for this team but I have also helped many other drivers find seconds off of their best times at many different tracks. In one week, I supported six different drivers at two different events and between them they found 16.3 seconds. There are many difficulties that face the individuals and families in the ALS world. One of the main challenges is often the pure and honest feeling of helplessness. The unknowns of the disease take a toll on everyday life. Questions of who and where can I turn to for help often fill their thoughts. Recently, the Racing for ALS team answered that question for one family affected by ALS in February. Jim Gilbert was diagnosed with respiratory onset ALS in August of 2021.
